What do you get when you combine a car show with 275 + great looking race cars and two days of racing, a state fair, and perfect weather?
Answer: About as much fun as anyone can have and still be legal.
The Duquoin Illinois Fairgrounds was the site for all of this on Labor Day Weekend. The excitement, great folks, good food. USAC Silver Crown Spirits, Modifieds and A.R.C.A cars racing on dirt was a dream come true for many!
A young racer living out a dream is Brent Raulston from Jasper, AR. He drives a full size A.R.C.A stock car, a step up from his street stock at the local dirt track. He qualified 30th with a speed of 92.519 mph and finished 27th.
This was a terrific weekend of events, an easy 4 1/2 hour ride up I-55. This needs to be on your calendar of events to attend next year… One word of caution: DON’T FEED THE BEARS!!
